Why use a visible name wheel?
A visible wheel is useful when people should be able to see who is in the draw and watch the selection happen. That makes it a good fit for classrooms, clubs and meetings. Every name currently on the wheel gets the same chance unless a name has been entered more than once.
Example: choosing classroom turns
Paste the class list, leave out anyone who is absent and spin for the first student. If everyone should get one turn before anyone repeats, remove each picked name after the spin. When no names are left, restore the class and start a fresh round.
Check the list before you spin
Copied registers often contain blank rows, duplicate names or extra text. Clean those before a formal draw. If two students share the same name, add an initial or another short label so the result is clear. For recurring classes, save the cleaned list so you are not rebuilding the same roster every lesson.
