Giveaway Winner Picker

Draw Winners and Backup Winners from Your List

Paste the entries you have already checked, choose how many winners and backups you need, then run one clear draw. The picker handles the final selection; you decide who is allowed to enter.

Quick Setup

Paste one eligible entry per line, choose your winner and alternate counts, then draw.

How to Use It

  1. 1. Add your eligible entries

Add one name, username or entry per line. If your rules allow only one entry per person, remove accidental duplicates before the draw.

  2. 2. Choose winners and alternates

Choose the number of main winners and backup winners before you start so the whole draw uses the same setup.

  3. 3. Draw and copy the result

Run the draw and keep the winners and alternates in the order shown. That gives you a clear reserve list if somebody cannot claim.

Useful Features

Main winners and alternates

Draw backup winners at the same time so you already have a clear reserve order.

Duplicate cleanup

Remove repeated entries when your giveaway rules allow only one entry per person.

No duplicate winner positions

The same list entry cannot take two places in the same draw.

Clear draw record

Copy the winners, alternates and draw order when you are finished.

When to Use It

Social giveaways

Draw from a list of usernames you have already checked against the giveaway rules.

Newsletter promotions

Choose winners from an exported list of eligible subscribers.

Event prizes

Pick from attendees, ticket holders or another prepared list.

Community competitions

Choose winners and backup winners in one simple draw.

More Useful Guidance

The draw starts after eligibility has been checked

This picker starts with the list you give it. Check who is eligible first, then finalise the entrant list, choose the number of winners and backups, and run the draw. Keeping those steps separate makes the final selection much easier to explain.

Example: one winner and two alternates

Import the checked entrant list, choose one main winner and two alternates, then draw all three positions together. Keep the order exactly as returned. If the main winner cannot accept the prize, the first alternate is next, followed by the second. This is clearer than returning later and inventing a new reserve draw.

Decide how duplicates should work before drawing

A repeated username might be a mistake, or it might be a valid extra entry under your giveaway rules. Only remove duplicates when your rules say one entry per person. The picker cannot tell why a name appears more than once, so the list needs to be checked before you draw.

Giveaway Picker vs Multiple Winner Picker

Use Giveaway Winner Picker when you need main winners plus a separate backup list. Multiple Winner Picker is simpler when everyone selected has the same status. Raffle Name Picker is better when people have different numbers of tickets.

How the Result Is Chosen

Fair selection

Every entry you include gets the same chance unless your giveaway rules deliberately allow someone more than one entry. The picker does not check eligibility for you.

Privacy

The entrant list stays on the device while you run the draw. You are still responsible for how you collect and store any personal data.

Common Questions

Does the tool check whether an entry is eligible?

No. You should complete any eligibility checks first and paste only the entries allowed in your draw.

Can I draw backup winners?

Yes. Add alternates and they will be listed in reserve order after the main winners.

Can I remove duplicate entries?

Yes. Use duplicate cleanup when your rules allow only one entry per person.

Can I use this for any giveaway?

The picker provides the random draw only. You are responsible for the rules, platform requirements and laws that apply to your promotion.

Should I draw alternates at the same time as the winner?

Usually yes when your rules allow it, because the reserve order is recorded at the same time as the main winner.

Can the same list entry be picked twice?

No. One list entry can only take one place in the same winner-and-alternate draw.
