How to Use It

  1. 1. Choose the number range

    Set the smallest and largest numbers you want on the wheel.

  2. 2. Set the step

    Choose the step. Use 1 for every whole number, or a bigger step for sequences such as 5, 10, 15 and 20.

  3. 3. Spin for a number

    Build the wheel and spin. If you turn on winner removal, the selected number is taken off before the next spin.

Turn a number sequence into visible choices

The wheel first builds a sequence from your minimum, maximum and step. Every number in that sequence then becomes one equal choice. This is useful when the audience should see the available values before the draw, such as classroom questions, game scores or numbered turns, rather than receiving a number instantly from a hidden range.

Example: multiples of five from 5 to 50

Set the minimum to 5, maximum to 50 and step to 5. The wheel contains 5, 10, 15 and so on up to 50. Each number shown has the same chance. The fact that 50 is larger than 5 does not make it more likely.

Use the step to control the wheel size

A very large range with a tiny step can create more segments than are useful on a visual wheel. If the purpose is simply to generate any number from a huge range, use Random Number Generator instead. The wheel is strongest when the set is small enough for people to understand what the possible outcomes are.

Yes. Every number shown on the wheel has the same chance.

How is this different from Random Number Generator?

Can I make a wheel with only even numbers?

Yes. Start at 2 and use a step of 2, then set the maximum number you want.

Can I remove a number after it is selected?

Yes when remove-winner mode is enabled, which is useful for no-repeat rounds.
